EAST 17 are set to film the latest video for their new single Secret Of My Life in Sabaudia in southern Italy – at the location where Fellini made two of his greatest movies La Strada and Juliet Of The Spirits. The band who achieved 18 Top Twenty hits (including House Of Love, Deep and Christmas No.1 Stay Another Day) as well as four Top Ten albums and sales of over twenty million records, were recently signed to FOD Records and Secret Of My Life is the first fruits of that deal. The song ostensibly highlights the story of an extra-marital affair but could really relate to anyone who’s ever had a secret! It is due for release at the end of July. East 17 were recently re-united under the auspices of principal songwriter Tony Mortimer who won an Ivor Novello Songwriter Award for Stay Another Day, the song he wrote for his brother Ollie who committed suicide. The current line-up includes original members Mortimer, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell, along with a charismatic new recruit, singer Blair Dreelan. The band are currently putting the finishing touches to a new album that’s being brought forward for September release.
